9th UK Asynchronous Forum

University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory

Overview

The UK Asynchronous Forum is an informal 1-day meeting where those working in asynchronous design in the UK (and particularly research students) can meet to present and discuss ideas.  The event is optimised for UK participants though others are welcome to attend.  See the UK Asynchronous Forum home page for further details.

Deadlines

Submissions

Extended abstracts of not more than 4 pages must be submitted to Prof Steve Furber by 1st December.   Abstracts must be sent in either ASCII, postscript (which must be viewable with ghostview) or pdf.

Schedule/Programme

The general structure of these forums is below. The program is now available.

   Morning       Afternoon       Evening
18th December, 2000    travel talks dinner
19th December, 2000 talks travel

Location

The 9th UK Asynchronous Circuits Forum is being organised by the Computer Laboratory but talks will be held in Gonville & Cauis College (often abbreviated to just "Cauis" pronounced "Keys") in the Bateman Auditorium. Cauis is situated in the center of Cambridge - see:
http://uk.multimap.com/p/browse.cgi?pc=CB21TA

Accommodation and meals will be at a college next door to Cauis - Trinity Hall, one of the 35 Cambridge Colleges (and not to be confused with Trinity College in Cambridge - Trinity Hall is much older).

Transport

Cambridge has little parking for cars, and what there is is expensive. We are unable to provide parking spaces at the Computer Lab or at Trinity Hall (which is actually land locked by the pedestrianised streets between 10am and 4pm). We therefore advise that you travel by train or coach. The train station is 1 mile from the center and there is a shuttle bus which runs every 8 minutes into the center. The coach station (Drummer Street) is right in the center. If you have to travel by car then we suggest that you use the Park and Ride facilities signed posted from the major highways.

Registration and Accommodation

Please register online by 4th December, 2000. Student accommodation of a good standard (though no ensuite facilities) will be available at the Trinity Hall main site in the centre of Cambridge. The online registration process will produce an accommodation booking form which may be posted, together with a cheque, to Trinity Hall.
